I was born awhile ago, during a blizzard.

Since then, I try to make every day as exciting as that night was for my parents.

I write mostly for teens. And when I'm not doing that, I teach writing to teens.

When I'm not doing that, I'm with my wife, three kids, or way too many pets.

For Fun: Outside of the classroom and away from the computer, I try to get outside as much as possible.  I love kayaking, running, hiking, skiing, and trail biking.  I'm currently into obstacle course races. And I just got a road bike, (not pictured) so I can try some distance bike races.

Recovering addiction:  Comic book collecting.  At one time I had over 16,000 books.  They had to go.  So I kept only my favorite 2,000.  Mostly Batman.  Now I read mostly digital comics. But I still lurk at comic cons and comic stores sometimes.
